El Catarisme ha suscitat un entusiasme que s'ha manifestat en una abundant pluja de literatura sovint tendenciosa, esotèrica, i a vegades revisionista. Tanmateix, és bastant fàcil de veure-hi clar per escollir bons llibres de vulgaritzacio.
